This update will focus on my newly painted Deff Dredd. This bad boy took a while to paint, and he is covered in so much funky detail that it was a real slog to finally finish. I started out with a Black Primer, followed by a thorough dry brush of silver. From there, he mostly sat in that state for the longest time. It wasn't until he performed heroically in a game of 40k that I decided to continue painting him.
As this guy is mostly metal, I decided to focus on painting his various parts in black washes and contrast paints, to give him a Goffs look. In addition to this, He needed some brass as well, thus I used some brass Speed Paint over the silver.
Theres quite a bit of Gubbins on this Dredd, thus I used quite a few vibrant colours to brighten him up. Green, Yellow, Red and Blue was splashed around, with Red used to colour up some panels and armour as well. These colours were dotted around for his eyes, cables and piping, and the Green fuel can for his butt.
Once I had him at a state I was happy with, it was time to apply a whole bunch of decals to him. I have an old Ork decal transfer sheet, with many nice icons and symbols on it, but unfortunately a lot of them have microcracks in them, thus it was quite difficult to apply them. Many ended up being unusable since they were impossible to apply, thus you will see some decals are kind of incomplete.
Overall I am quite happy with how this came out, suitably orky, with enough variety. Now he just needs to prove his worth in his next game.
